Meet Our Board
Pramada Shah, President, is a social activist who founded Animal Nepal as an NGO in 2008. She is also the founder of Animal Welfare Network Nepal. Much earlier she helped set up Saathi, an NGO fighting violence against women and children. She is also the founder of Burns Violence Survivors Nepal supporting burn patients. She is also a founder and treasurer of Brick Clean Network, an NGO working to establish standards for the operation of Brick kilns in Nepal. Pramada has a Tibetan Mastiff, a family of 9 Tibetan Spaniels and 3 rescued strays.
Shristi Shrestha, Secretary, is a social and animal welfare campaigner who looks after five dogs and two cats (with seven kittens!). She is a Kali devotee who believes gods and goddesses do not demand blood from their children. Shobha Rajamajhi, Treasurer, is a social entrepreneur and owner of 1905 Restaurant and The Farmers Mart. She has special interest in ‘green’ architecture. Her household is filled with dogs, especially Spaniels.
Jessy Rai, member, works as a programme assistant at the World Bank and is co-owner of Phoenix Studios Nepal with hubby Jiggy Gaton. In her spare time Jessy like to sing rock songs. She is the ‘mother’ of Krypto, a friendly German Shepherd who likes to kiss our board members and get cookies in return.
Animal Nepal’s other board members are radio DJ Rita Limbu as well as entrepreneur Kanchan Rana, Madhuri Singh and Paralita Malla and educationalist Gitanjali Gurung.
