Kafle manages our head office in Dobighat, Lalitpur. A vegetarian by birth, he feels strongly about animal rights and welfare. He worked as a graphic designer and business manager before joining Animal Nepal. His designs can be viewed here.
Kapil Mani Kafle
Joined: November 2016
Kapil Kaphle is our new Programme Manager who comes from teaching background. He also works as shelter manager and coordinates overall activities of Animal Nepal.

A vegan and an extremely passionate animal lover and enthusiast in the field of animal welfare, she comes up with creative reports, designs and campaigns, manages the website and social pages. As a student of Media Technology, she also has a great interest in photography and video making and worked as radio jockey before joining Animal Nepal.

As a finance Officer, Rupa Shrestha takes care of our financial administration. She divides her work between Animal Nepal and Burns Survivors Nepal, with whom we share our office.
SHELTER MANAGER & VETERINARIAN (Donkey Sanctuary)

Coordinator of Donkey Outreach Programme Dr.Yadav coordinates the Working Equine Outreach Programme. Apart from managing a Mobile Clinics programme in over 15 brick kilns, he looks after the Donkey Sanctuary and Hospital. He also takes record of the all rescued animals in our sanctuary and manages the overall donkey project.
VETERINARIAN (Chobar Animal Shelter)

Thapa is the coordinator of our stray dog programme and Chobar Animal Sanctuary. He is in charge of the Animal Birth Control/Anti Rabies programme and coordinates the Mobile Response Team together with Shelter Manager Shankar Sapkota. Young and passionate Thapa is also a huge dog lover and owns few dog of his own whom he loves insanely.

She joined our Working Equine Outreach Programme as vet technicians. She treats equines in mobile clinics in brick factories. Tara despite of being the only female technician of Animal Nepal, works equally with her counter parts. She also carries enough knowledge about the working equines as she comes from Nepalgunj, the famous equine bazar of Nepal.
Mohan, Ishwori Maharjan and Sangeeta Deula (CARE TAKERS)

They are the shelter Caretakers. These committed staff run our dog rehabilitation shelter. They act as assistants, caretakers, dog catchers, and basically know all the ins and outs of shelter management.

Ram Chandra owns the most stressful job among all as he is always driving off to rescue sick and injured animals sometimes even in odd hours. However, he never looks stressed out and manages to cheer up everyone with his silly jokes.
Godavari Donkey Sanctuary Caretaker

Santa Bahadur and his wife are the caretakers of the rescued working equines at our donkey sanctuary. Apart from feeding and brushing the horses, mules and donkeys they grow fodder and vegetables. Despite of their poor family background and family disputes, they are always seen happy and smiling and often busy taking care of our rescued equines.
Meet the Part time Staff & Volunteers
Surendra Karki (Outreach Campaign Coordinator) is a committed social worker who has been involved in development activities for over 15 years. Apart from working with Rural Reconstruction Nepal he coordinates our Nepalgunj Working Equines Outreach Campaign.
Jiggy Gaton (Volunteer Web Guru) is a writer, designer and software developer who has settled down in Nepal. He co-owns and operates Phoenix Studios Nepal with Board member Jessy Rai, and he makes sure that our website, documentaries, and publications are up to international standards. He is the ‘father’ of Krypto, The super dog with a special interest in injured stray pups.
